Xavier!

The newest (and sadly, only temporary) addition to my household:

IMG_3605

This is Xavier, the betta fish.  He is my friend Zak’s fish, but I get to watch him over winter break.  I keep getting distracted by him though.  For some reason, it is very amusing to set there for a few minutes and just watch him swim.

Thanksgiving Break

The UW- Stevens Point has got to have the shortest Thanksgiving break ever.  We had class on Wednesday… lame.  So I did not get home until Wednesday night.

IMG_3500

I came home to this- my aunt and cousins from North Carolina staying at our house! :)  Unfortunately, I did not get to hang out with them very long, because their last night staying at our house was Wednesday.

IMG_3502

I also got to see my puppy Trooper! :D

The next day was, obviously, Thanksgiving!  Here is a picture of me and my sisters all dressed up nicely.

IMG_3507

Trooper did not want to be in this picture.

My sisters?  Getting along?  Suspicious.

The next day we got to go ice skating!

Overall, it was a very fun weekend, and a much needed break from school :)

A Little Late…

A few weekends ago, my roommate and I bought some pumpkins and a squash from the farmers market downtown.  This was just before Halloween.  I kept forgetting to get pictures of them, though.

IMG_3478

Here they are!  I named the pumpkin Harold and the squash Wallace. :)

Halloween!

So for Halloween weekend, my friends and I had lots of big plans :)  First on our list was dress up night at Cru (Campus Crusade for Christ) on Thursday night.

IMG_3468

Here I am with a bunch of my girls- Rebecca (hunter dude), Kirsten (gangsta), Dayleen (mime), Bethany (cowgirl), Bry (rock star), Marlee (fairy), and Me (eskimo) <3  It was super fun to see what everyone was dressed up as.  One of my favorites was probably a girl on crutches who wore a Brett Favre jersey.

On Saturday we planned to go to a haunted house downtown and a haunted corn maze (isn’t the whole point of Halloween to scare yourself silly?) I was super excited because I have never been to a haunted corn maze before.  And wouldn’t you know it- they were both closed. WHAT?! On Halloween weekend??? Who closes haunted things on HALLOWEEN WEEKEND??!!  Lame.  So a few of my friends and I rented The Wolfman from Redbox and had a movie night in my room.  We still had a lot of fun :D

Update on the guys across the hall:  If they have their door open and we open our door, the close theirs.  Like I said, they are antisocial… but I am pretty sure it is just towards us.

Delicious Treats

Today my floor had a survey that everyone had to do, but after we turned them in, we got to make…

101019-220624

CARAMEL APPLES!!  I haven’t had a caramel apple in forever.  I put chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, and sprinkles on mine :D  And it was amazing.

Oh T9…

Sometimes, when I am texting, my phone likes to have T9 fails.  And usually it is my fault in some way.  Sometimes I forget to hit the space bar, which changes my messages completely.  For instance:

IMG_3435

Turning the words “just wondering” into “lustymodeping”.  Which leaves me with one question.

Why does my phone know the word lustymodeping???

Homecoming Weekend

So this weekend was Homecoming weekend in Stevens Point.  We beat Oshkosh 41-17 :)  I only went to the first half of the game though, it was SUPER hot outside.  Other fun Homecoming festivities included a dance that was pretty fun, and a rave that could have been better.

But that was all on Saturday.  And I have no pictures from Saturday.  So here are some pictures from Friday instead.  Some of my friends and I walked through Schmeeckle again, and Devin and I got to show off our mad juggling skills.

IMG_3372

I have no pictures of myself juggling because…. I was too busy juggling to take pictures.  Duh.

IMG_3375

From left to right: Zak, Kevin, and Devin.  I really like this picture.

IMG_3392

When we got back from Schmeeckle, Zak let me straighten his hair.  And it only took me an hour!

The finished result.

Update on the guys across the hall:  I really don’t have an update.  They are actually pretty anti-social.

It gets better and better

So remember that bug from two posts ago?  The one in my window?  That was supposed to DIE in my window?  Apparently it can go for days being stuck in a window.  Not only is it still alive…

IMG_3356

It is IN MY FAN.

Freakin’ bug is taunting me.

Crazy Yellow Monkeys

So, I am really cold right now for some reason.  In an attempt to keep myself warm, I am now sitting at my desk all cocooned in my tie blanket.  The pattern is called “Happy Monkeys on Yellow” but my whole family calls it my Crazy Yellow Monkey blanket.

100928-215808

It is very warm.  I love it :)

Also, I like my roommate’s poster in the background.  It says “You can’t overdose on music.  But feel free to try.”

Update on the guys across the hall:  They were blasting some punk music today when I wanted to listen to Glee music with Megan in preparation for watching the Britney Spears episode tonight.  I had to close my door :(  Also, I have decided that the taller one is Ben, and the shorter one is Alex.  I have no idea if that is right though.

Blah Blah Blah

So I have been super busy lately, hence no blog updates.  But I’m sick this weekend, so instead of being out with my homies, I am stuck in my room.  What better time is there to blog?

First off, gross.

IMG_3354

This bug is stuck in our window.  And it’s huge.  There is also a big nasty spider outside the window.  Luckily, due to me being sick, we have decided to not open the window.  So I don’t have to worry about opening the window, the dude escaping, and finding him in my bed later.

And secondly,

IMG_3355

My friends are super photogenic.  They came over after dinner to see if I was ok enough to go play cards in the UC- it was decided that I was not :(- and for some reason those four decided that it would be more fun to hang out in the hall than in my room.  So everyone in my room referred to them as the hobos :)

Update on the guys across the hall: So I was talking to Megan about how in my post about my new boots I mentioned the guys across the hall from me, and we decided that if would be funny if I did updates on the guys who live across from me.  So today’s update is that I’m pretty sure that one of them thinks that I am crazy.  I was erasing something on my whiteboard the other day and decided to make some super cool sound effects.  Unknown to me, one of the guys was right behind me.  So now they probably think that I am super weird.  Also, I still don’t know which one is Ben and which one is Alex.

Purple Hair

This weekend I ended up coming home to Oregon so that I could get a purple extension in my hair.

IMG_3353

I like how it turned out :)  And most of the money that I paid for it is going to research for Pancreatic Cancer.  It’s something that they are doing at my mom’s salon.

New Friends :)

So on Friday, I spent almost the whole day with my friend Diego.  And as a result, I met pretty much everybody who lives on his floor that didn’t go home this weekend.  And they are awesome!  I spent a lot of time this weekend hanging out with them, and it was a great time :) Today some of us went on a walk through Schmeeckle again:

IMG_3323

Ok I know that you can’t see their faces, but I think that it is a really cool picture.  Also, this was on the way to Schmeeckle.  Not actually there yet.  From left to right: Diego, Devin, Fydo (Michael), and Zak.  We also played a bit of MarioKart, and some volleyball.  It was great fun :D

New Boots!

My sisters and I have all been looking all over for cute boots since the beginning of the summer.  I found a pair that I liked in the Boston Store, and last week Sarah called to tell me that they were on sale for $35!  So, of course, I had her pick them up for me, and I got them on Saturday :)

IMG_3320

I LOVE them!  I love how they look, and they are SUPER comfortable.  I have been waiting for the weather to warm up so that I can wear them with my new dress, but that doesn’t look like it is going to happen any time soon.  So I decided that I am going to wear them tomorrow with another outfit that I think will look cute :)

On another note, the lucky boys who live across from me got to watch me model these boots (with my sweat pants… sexy combination) not once, but TWICE last night while I showed them to my girlfriends.

A Weekend of Updates

I was originally going to stay in Stevens Point this weekend, since it was my first weekend back in college, but that ended up not happening.  Friday night I stayed in Point and had movie night with some of my friends, but Saturday morning I woke up to a text from my cousin asking if I was going to my Grandpa’s birthday picnic later that night.  I had no clue that he was even having a birthday picnic.  However, a lot of my friends went home this weekend, and my dad was up in Oshkosh bringing stuff to my sister that she forgot, so he swung by Point on the way back to pick me up and take me home.  And I had a really fun time :)

IMG_3299

Here are most of the people that came to the picnic :)

I also took a few pictures of the boats, because I thought it was a nice scene :)

The rest of my weekend was really fun, just hanging out with my parents and Brenna.  My mommy made all sorts of yummy food for me, including strawberry shortcake… YUM!

I got back to Point earlier this afternoon, and pretty much worked on homework all night.  Until eight o’ clock, when my friend Bry decided that a Girls Night would be fun :)

There are some of my girls :) From left to right: Bethany, Megan, Bry, Kirsten, and Marlee!  Oh how I love them <3

Schmeeckle

The other day I went for a walk through our nature reserve up here in Stevens Point- Schmeeckle.  My friend Bethany texted me asking if I wanted to walk through with her, and of course I did!  I love walking through it and seeing how beautiful it looks in all the different seasons.

IMG_3289

Here is the trail leading into Schmeeckle.

IMG_3290

Not gonna lie, I mostly took this picture to make sure I was spelling Schmeeckle right.

Rain, Rain, Go Away….

Today was a super crappy day.  It rained on and off pretty much all day (and not a nice cooling rain either.  A warm, humid rain), and just a few minutes ago my roommate and I heard thunder.  But, on the positive side, I got to wear my new rain boots!

IMG_3288

I got them at Target the other day, because last year I got sick of my shoes and the bottom of my pants getting soaked and nasty.  I felt kind of overdressed wearing them today, since there weren’t really any big puddles, but that’s okay because I was just excited to wear them.

Textbooks

Today, I went to text rental and got my textbooks for the semester.

IMG_32852

All eight of them.  Plus a lab manual for Biology.  Luckily, my friend Megan had already gotten her textbooks, so she helped me carry mine.

This should be fun.

First Day Back!

Today I moved back to Stevens Point!  I had a race with my roommate to see who would get here first, and she beat me… but just barely!  So much has gone on today- unpacking, visiting friends, getting free custard at Culvers, bumming around Target- that it’s hard to believe that I haven’t even been back for a full day.

IMG_3284

Here is a snapshot of my desk/dresser/closet area.  It is more organized than it looks.  It’s actually quite clean.  You can’t see in the picture, but at this point my roommate’s chair was over by my desk too because my friend Bill and I were watching Heroes :)

Last day in Oregon!

Today is my last day in Oregon before I move back to Stevens Point!  To celebrate, I got ice cream (and juggling balls) with my dad, and I went to The Other Guys with my mom.  It was hilarious!  Finally, a Will Ferrell movie that I can watch a few times and not get sick of.  Also, I packed most of my stuff yesterday, so I didn’t have to worry about packing today, and I could just hang out.  Here is my wonderfully packed stuff, chillin’ all over the house.

Ruh Roh

Today, Trooper did something that he hasn’t done in years.  Brenna and I were very shocked when we went into our parents bedroom and noticed this:

IMG_3280

Yes, he actually mauled the toilet paper in their bathroom.  I think he has only done that once before, when he was a really little puppy.  So it was quite a surprise for us when we saw that he had done it again.  Crazy dog.

Chill Day

Today was a pretty chill day for me and Brenna.  We added Anastasia to our Netflix instant queue and watched a bit of that, and then we went to mom’s salon and B got her hair trimmed and I got my bangs trimmed up before going back to school.

100826-232009

Much better.  Now they aren’t getting in my eyes :)  Woah my eyes look dark.

Yea, so not a whole lot to report today.  After dinner I went with mom and B to pick up Sarah from Anne’s house, where she was watching William.  So that was fun, but of course I didn’t get any pictures.  Oh well.

This is for you, Marcia!

Today, I do not have a picture to put up.  Instead, I have a video of a little skill that I learned this summer :)

My dad started juggling a little while ago, and this summer I randomly decided that I wanted to learn how to as well.  We are hoping to get good enough that we can both juggle at the same time and learn some fancy tricks.  My aunt Marcia thinks that my mom's whole side of the family should all learn to juggle so that we can learn a cool trick and try out for America's Got Talent.

New Rings

Today, my family (minus Sarah, who is babysitting William for a few days) and I went to West Towne mall to meet up with my cousins, aunt, and uncle, and do some shopping :)  It was a lot of fun.  I didn’t really need to get anything, so I was pretty much just there for the company.  I did, however, end up getting two new belly button rings at Hot Topic!  They were buy one get one half off, so I couldn’t resist.

IMG_3274

Here is the first ring :)  Britta got this ring too.

IMG_3275

And here’s the second one.  Britta did not get this one.  She got a pretty red one with red jewels and two red circles attached at the bottom.  It’s prettier than that description makes it sound, though.

Happy 75th, Grandpa Jim!!

Today was my Grandpa Jim’s 75th birthday, so we had a little party for him in Dodgeville with some relatives :)  It was supposed to be a surprise, but that didn’t work, so he knew about it.  That’s ok though, we still had a lot of fun!

Unfortunately, I forgot to bring my camera, so no pictures from this event.  So I decided to take some pictures of my dog to put up today, because my blog feels naked without pictures.  So here are pictures of my Irish Terrier, Trooper!

IMG_3269

Me and him <3  Eww I look gross.  Whatever.  It’s my blog, I can post gross pictures if I want to.

IMG_3270

Just him, in all his glory.  I was actually really excited that I was able to get this picture.  Usually, when he is being cute, he moves right before the picture takes.  But he was too distracted by a noise downstairs, and I was able to get this picture, which I think is really cute :)
